Practically dressed for your day out
De Efteling is constantly evolving. New attractions appear, but that sometimes means saying goodbye to beloved classics. Today, the fairytale ends. The Chinese Nightingale closes its doors for good to make way for the Fairy tale libraryThis moment is a good opportunity to look back at five other disappeared Efteling attractions which many visitors have fond memories of.
1. Haunted Castle
In the summer of 2022 the doors of the Haunted Castle Open for the last time. The attraction was an iconic part of the park for years, but due to outdated technology and the poor condition of the building, Efteling decided to close it.
Op September 4 2022 the last show took place. Fans could enjoy the special Ghost Night Enjoy the mysterious atmosphere one more time. From 2024 the new attraction is located here Danse Macabre, a tribute to the Haunted Castle.
2. Bobsleigh track
Who doesn't remember the call "Hello beautiful Bob"? In 2019 the Efteling said goodbye to the Bobsleigh track, a beloved bobsled run that was experiencing technical problems. The last run was for employees, after which the track was demolished. The place was revived in 2020 with the arrival of Max & Moritz, a cheerful family roller coaster.
3. Polka Marina
From 1984 to 2020 adorned Polka Marina Ruigrijkplein. This colorful merry-go-round with 23 boats and a large whale in the center was a favorite with young visitors for years.
After closing, the famous whale was given a special second life at the Efteling staff café.
4. Monsieur Cannibal
The cheerful music and spinning cooking pots of Monsieur Cannibal are a childhood memory for many. In this attraction, you could control the speed of your cooking pot while spinning to a cheerful melody.
In 2022 the attraction got a new theme: Sirocco, fitting within the theme area Travel realm. So the ride was retained, but with a completely new look.

5. Pegasus
Before Joris en de Draak When it opened its tracks in 2010, the wooden roller coaster stood in the same place PegasusThis job, opened in 1991, was especially popular with families.
When the attraction was demolished in 2009, fans could buy a piece of the wooden structure as a souvenir. A small piece of Pegasus thus lives on in the homes of many enthusiasts.
