The Anton Pieckplein
One of the most atmospheric squares in Efteling is the Anton Pieckplein. On this square you'll find various nostalgic (merry-go-)rounds and little buildings in Anton Pieck's unique style. Feeling peckish? Head to Den Suykerbuyk for ice cream and waffles, or to Smulpaap for chips and snacks. You can also discover treasures from Efteling's rich history here in the Efteling Museum.
Vlindermolen
Step into the Vlindermolen for a wild ride full of thrills and adventure. On the pole in the middle of the ride you'll see a statue of Mijnheer Prikkebeen: a man in a top hat trying to catch butterflies with his net. You'll find the Vlindermolen next to the Smulpaap restaurant on the Anton Pieckplein..
Historic carousels
The Anton Pieckplein has several merry-go-rounds. For instance, you can take a spin on the iconic Vermolen Carrousel, a merry-go-round steeped in history! The banners on the sides of the carousel depict various towns and cities. Is your hometown among them? Next to this carousel you'll find the iconic Anton Pieckcarrousel, built in 1900.
Food and Drink
Worked up an appetite after all those carousels and swing rides? The Anton Pieckplein has several places to eat and drink. The terrace of Het Witte Paard partly borders the Anton Pieckplein. In den Hoorn des Overvloeds is the place to go for a refreshing ice cream or a drink. Fancy something fried? No problem! Smulpaap serves chips and snacks. Prefer scooped ice cream and fresh waffles? Then look no further than Den Suykerbuyk. The friendly staff are ready to fulfil all your culinary wishes.
Swing rides
Not had enough from the carousels? The Anton Pieckplein also has two swing rides. On the big swing ride you soar to great heights. The smaller version offers a unique ride: it goes backwards! On the small swing ride you'll meet four musical monkeys, each with its own instrument.
Efteling Museum and lots of details
Dive into Efteling's enchanting history at the Efteling Museum! The Anton Pieckplein is also full of little details. Be enchanted by charming figurines and playful little fountains. Discover the surprises at the coin machines on the Anton Pieckplein: the Smidje, the Gekroonde Eend and the Stenen Kip. What might be inside your golden egg? Let yourself be surprised! Shops and entertainment
On the Anton Pieckplein you can enjoy a nostalgic puppet show every day in the iconic puppet theatre. In the middle of the square, the little shop Spiegeltje Spiegeltje… awaits, where you can dress up in beautiful costumes.
