New fairy tales in the Sprookjesbos
In recent years, the Efteling has been busy expanding, renovating and maintaining the park. The Sprookjesbos is no exception. This magical forest has gained a number of new residents over the past few years. In this blog, we'll take you along and tell you which stories they are and when they moved into the Sprookjesbos.
De Prinses op de Erwt
The Efteling recently announced a new fairy tale: De Prinses op de Erwt (The Princess and the Pea). This will be the 31st fairy tale to find a home in the Sprookjesbos. It will be located on the edge of the forest, between the fairy tales Vrouw Holle and the Trollenkoning. The fairy tale is expected to open to visitors in spring 2025.

De Zes Zwanen
The most recent fairy tale added to the Sprookjesbos was De Zes Zwanen, in 2019. It includes a short boat ride so you can see everything. Unfortunately, the boat isn't accessible for people with disabilities, but luckily there's also a walking route, so everyone can still enjoy the fairy tale.
You'll find De Zes Zwanen near the fairy tales of Sneeuwwitje and Ezeltje strekje.
Pinokkio
In 2016, Pinokkio got its own spot in the Sprookjesbos. The wooden puppet and Gepetto's workshop can be found between Roodkapje and de Rode Schoentjes.
As you walk towards the fairy tale, a big eye-catcher immediately grabs your attention: the monster fish. Turn the fishing rod and Pinokkio might just appear.

De Nieuwe Kleren van de Keizer
A little longer ago, in 2012, the Sprookjesbos was expanded with the fairy tale De Nieuwe Kleren van de Keizer (The Emperor's New Clothes). You'll find it between Het Meisje met de Zwavelstokjes and the Sprookjesboom.
It's a funny fairy tale and great fun to watch. Listen to the story and see how the emperor ends up parading around in his “invisible” clothes.
