The Kinderspoor opened in 1954, roughly where the Volk van Laaf can be found today. In 1999 the Kinderspoor moved to Ruigrijk, where you can still find the attraction now. On this attraction you make your way along on pedal trains through an impressive landscape inspired by the Zaanse Schans. During your ride you pass farms, windmills and fields. What makes it special is that you have to pedal yourself, so you decide how fast your ride goes. Did you know that every little train is named after a species of bird?
