A royal visit to the Sprookjesbos
From 14 May 2025, a brand-new fairy tale opens in the Efteling! De Prinses op de Erwt (The Princess and the Pea) is settling into the Sprookjesbos for a sleepless night. Just as the well-known fairy tale tells, she is put to the test by sleeping on an enormous pile of mattresses, with one tiny pea right at the bottom. Of course, only a true princess can feel it.

New walking route
You'll find this new fairy tale on the walking route between Hans en Grietje and Vrouw Holle. The scene is designed as a charming garden house belonging to the royal castle, and that's no coincidence. The Efteling Grand Hotel serves as the backdrop to this fairy tale! The colours and shapes of the little house tie in beautifully with the hotel.
New entrance for hotel guests
Fun fact: from the opening of the Efteling Grand Hotel, De Prinses op de Erwt will be the official entrance for hotel guests. Guests step straight into the Sprookjesbos here, right in the middle of the magic, ready to explore the rest of the park from there.
