The Sprookjesbos
The Sprookjesbos is a special place in the Efteling. This is where it all began! Today you can discover 30 fairy tales there, from Langnek to Hans & Grietje. But did you know that several princesses also live in the Sprookjesbos? We've rounded them up for you!
Doornroosje
When you stroll into the Sprookjesbos, one thing immediately catches your eye: the magical castle of Doornroosje. Hidden amongst the greenery, the princess has been sleeping here for almost 100 years. Will a brave prince ever come along to wake her with a kiss?
Sneeuwwitje
Sneeuwwitje and the poisoned apple are inseparable. Fleeing from her stepmother, Sneeuwwitje finds shelter with the seven dwarfs. But her stepmother manages to find her there and gives her an enchanted apple. You can visit Sneeuwwitje in the cave in the Sprookjesbos. The seven dwarfs sit sadly around her coffin…

Assepoester
Assepoester started out as the housemaid of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, but ends up a true princess. In Assepoester's house you can see for yourself how her story began. Take a good look upwards before you go inside… you might just spot her stepmother!
Het Stoute Prinsesje
Perhaps the least-known fairy tale in the Sprookjesbos: het stoute prinsesje (the naughty little princess). This is the eighth fairy tale you come across on your walk. This princess enjoyed mimicking others far too much, so as punishment she was turned into a parrot. But she's still a bit mischievous… if you say something to her, she repeats it straight away!

Coming soon: a new princess!
The Sprookjesbos will soon welcome a new princess! The beds are being stacked up, and a small pea is already waiting under the bottom mattress. Once everything is completely finished, the princess will lie down on top of the mattresses… But will she sleep well? You'll soon be able to come and see for yourself!
Do you know which princess this is? And which princess in the Sprookjesbos is your favourite?
