An upgrade for De Vliegende Hollander
Whether it's Easter, stormy or not, De Vliegende Hollander at Efteling is more impressive than ever. After months of maintenance, this popular attraction has not only been refreshed but also expanded with a brand-new scene.

New scene: dive into the ghost ship
Following the earlier upgrade of the ship graveyard before the collision with Den Hollander, the iconic lift hill has now had a major makeover too. Where you used to hang still while watching Captain Van der Decken's head slowly turn into a skeleton, you now find yourself in the heart of the cursed ghost ship.
Smoke and flickering light effects make it feel as though the ship is on fire and could collapse at any moment. Just in time, your boat sails upwards, away from the danger, and seems to escape the curse of De Vliegende Hollander.
Revamped souvenir shop
And that's not all. Once you've survived the curse and set foot ashore again in the cosy harbour town, you head outside through an atmospheric woodcarving workshop. Here you can view your on-ride photo and pick up unique Vliegende Hollander souvenirs, such as clothing and notebooks. You can even have some of them personalised with your own name.
So there's plenty of news to discover.
When will you be paying another visit?
