A day out in bad weather
On your day out at Efteling you're naturally always hoping for nice weather, but sadly that isn't always the case. The Netherlands is known for its often rather changeable weather, so what's the best thing to do if the weather turns bad during your day out? We'll tell you.
Attractions
Bad weather can mean different things. It might be raining, windy, hailing or perhaps even snowing. If you'd rather stay somewhere warm and dry, we recommend visiting the various indoor attractions the park has to offer.
For example, take a ride on Fata Morgana, Symbolica or one of the other dark rides in the park. It's also always a nice idea to pop over to the Stoomcarousel. Right next to the carousel you'll find Diorama, an attraction that people often walk straight past, but which is definitely worth a wander around.
Food and drink
Efteling has plenty of lovely restaurants where you can shelter from the bad weather for a while.
You could have pancakes at Polles Keuken, for instance. Why not try a flavour you've never had before, such as a pancake with salmon? Or go for a sandwich at Bäckerei Krümel. Here you can also hunt for all 25 little bread men. Can you find them all?
Souvenir shops
You'll find various souvenir shops throughout Efteling, for example at the exits of some attractions. Take a moment to have a leisurely browse through the souvenir shops and perhaps pick out your next purchase.
Looking for something specific? Then head to one of the park's biggest souvenir shops, Efteldingen. It's located right by the park's exit.
Set off prepared
As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. So set off prepared. On cold days, make sure you dress warmly. The handiest thing is to wear layers, which is always useful in case you get too warm.
Don't forget to bring an extra pair of socks and a raincoat, too. There's nothing more annoying than walking around the park soaked through.
