Experience rides, animals and nature at Bellewaerde!
Bellewaerde is a theme park and zoo in West Flanders, close to Ypres. You'll find dozens of rides and more than a hundred animals in green surroundings. That makes the park suitable for families with children of all ages.
Attractions
Bellewaerde has rides for families and thrill-seekers spread across seven zones: Mundo Amazonia, Mexico, Jungle, Savanne, KidsPark, India and Canada. Thrill-seekers go for Screaming Eagle and Boomerang, while families opt for the Wakala rollercoaster or Dawson Duel, where you race against each other. In Mundo Amazonia you'll find the water ride Amazonia, and in Canada the giant swing Seesaw Swing. Little ones can head to KidsPark and the Hampi Playground.
Food and drink
You'll find restaurants and food stalls throughout the park. The King's Table is a self-service restaurant with a medieval setting and room for 800 people. At The Tex-Mex Grill you can tuck into ribs and burgers, and at The Canadian Burger you look out over the big lake. For something sweet, there's La Piñata and the Sweetshop.

Hop aboard the Bengal Express, a little train that takes you right up close to the lions and Amur tigers. That way you can see the animals up close without leaving the park.
Choose your water rides
On Bengal Rapid River, staying dry is a challenge. Amazonia and Niagara are water rides too, so bring dry clothes on a warm day.

Entertainment
Bellewaerde has a free stunt and diving show, the Azuria The Next Sultan Stunt & Dive Show, about a sultan looking for a successor and ninjas lying in wait. In bad weather you stay dry in the covered seating, and no booking is needed. The park also hosts its own events around Halloween and Christmas.
Practical information
Bellewaerde is located on the Meenseweg in Ypres, West Flanders. From Kortrijk, take the train to Menen and then bus 80 to the entrance. You can buy tickets online via the park's webshop. For overnight stays, there are hotels and holiday homes in and around Ypres, listed on the park's website. Next to the park is the indoor Bellewaerde Aquapark.
