The Lion King at Disney Adventure World
Disney Adventure World is getting the world's first attraction and first themed area inspired by The Lion King. The area will sit on the shore of Adventure Bay, close to World of Frozen, and will cover more than 30,000 square metres in total. Alongside the attraction, there will be a shop, a restaurant and character meet-and-greets.
Construction began in autumn 2025. Disneyland Paris has not yet announced an opening date.
A water ride with three drops
The heart of the area will be a spectacular water ride for the whole family. You'll sail past famous scenes from the film, with animatronics of Simba, Timon, Pumbaa and Scar. Along the way, three drops await you, including a 16-metre plunge from Pride Rock.
Scar is getting his very first Audio-Animatronics figure: in a confrontation scene, he stands in Simba's way on his path to the throne, just like in the climax of the 1994 film.
A slice of savannah in France
To create a genuine African savannah, the Imagineers are pruning European trees into the shape of flat-topped acacias, which don't grow in the French climate. Animal footprints will be pressed into the ground, as if wild animals had been roaming there for ages.
