Nature
If you'd like to explore nature, a visit to the Loonse en Drunense Duinen is highly recommended. This area offers a mix of woodland, heath and sand. On sunny summer days it's a good idea to bring sunglasses, as the white sand can be harsh on the eyes.
There are various walking routes for those who want a leisurely stroll. If you'd rather explore at a quicker pace, there are also cycle routes through the nature reserve.
Kaatsheuvel
The Efteling is located in the Brabant village of Kaatsheuvel. When you're in the area, a stroll through the centre is always enjoyable. Explore the charming little streets, enjoy a meal in a restaurant or pop into one of the shops on the high street.
Waalwijk
Near Kaatsheuvel lies the town of Waalwijk. There's plenty to do here in the centre. There are all kinds of shops to visit, and it's also a lovely spot for lunch. Waalwijk also has a children's farm, which is always fun for a family day out.

Vestingstad Heusden
There's lots to see in Vestingstad Heusden. It has pretty little streets and plenty of history to discover. You can go for a walk or a bike ride, for example. There's also lots of water around, so you can visit the marina or take a boat tour.
The Efteling is slightly further from Vestingstad Heusden than from Waalwijk; it takes about 20 minutes to reach the park.
