A day at Efteling with a baby
There's nothing more fun than a trip to Efteling with the whole family. But what if one of the family is still a baby? Is it worth going to Efteling, and what are the best things to do with your little one? In this blog we share tips for having a fantastic day at Efteling with your little one.
The Sprookjesbos
Efteling is famous for, among other things, the Sprookjesbos (Fairytale Forest). What could be nicer than introducing your little one to all kinds of stories and fairytale characters? You can also head to the Sprookjesbos theatre to watch a show.
With all the colours and moving elements in the forest, there's plenty to see. The surroundings are also calm and atmospheric, which is another reason the Sprookjesbos is a must.

Attractions
Efteling has lots of attractions, but which ones are suitable for taking your baby on?
You could, for example, ride Carnaval Festival. This attraction is suitable for the whole family. You can bet you'll still have that famous earworm stuck in your head three days later.
Unfortunately, you can't take your little one on Symbolica. For this attraction, riders need to be able to sit up unaided.
Playgrounds
Efteling also has several playgrounds. For instance, you can visit the Kleuterhof, specially designed for the very youngest visitors. This playground has a variety of play equipment, all designed in cheerful colours. There's plenty to see, do and hear here
Played yourselves out? There are several places to eat and drink nearby, such as ’t Speelkwartier or Restaurant Kashba.

Practical tips
All toilets in the park have a baby changing area, with a bin for disposing of nappies. Do bear in mind that Efteling doesn't sell nappies, so you'll need to bring your own.
There are also several breastfeeding and pumping rooms in the park. There's a pumping and baby care room near Volk van Laaf, a pumping and quiet room in Ruigrijk, and a pumping and baby care room near Station de Oost.
The first two rooms are always open and you can simply walk in. If you'd like to use the room near Station de Oost, ask a member of staff to open it for you.
Good to know: children aged 3 and under get into the park for free.
Babyswitch
Still want to ride an attraction your little one can't go on? Efteling has the Babyswitch service especially for this situation. When you arrive at the attraction, just ask a member of staff about the Babyswitch service.
First, one parent queues and rides the attraction while the other parent stays with the child. When the first parent returns, you swap places so the other parent can enjoy the attraction too. The second parent doesn't have to queue again.
