A queue journey instead of a queue

Just a little longer and we'll be able to visit the newest attraction at Efteling. On 31 October, the gates of Danse Macabre open to all visitors for the first time. But before you visit the abbey, you'll go on quite a queue journey – so what can you expect?

Abdijplein

Your queue journey begins at the Abdijplein, the central square of the new themed area. On the right you'll see a large gate, where you're greeted by de Swarte kat. Go through one of these gates and you'll end up in the Kruysgang.

Kruysgang

The Kruysgang is the first area you walk through on your queue journey. A path has been laid between the crumbling walls of the abbey, bringing you step by step closer to the abbey entrance.

Kruydentuin

After walking through the Kruysgang, you'll find yourself in the Kruydentuyn. This former herb garden hasn't been used for a long time and has become overgrown as a result. Can you still tell what herbs once grew here?

Graveyard

A large wooden gate leads you into the graveyard. Several members of the musical company have found their final resting place here, as has Joseph Charlatan, the orchestra's conductor.

Once you're past the graveyard, you'll enter Het Huyverwoud. As the name suggests, this is a spine-chillingly dense forest. Stay on the path, because you never know what awaits you. Eventually, the wooden bridge brings you to the entrance of the abbey.
