Carnaval Festival

Who doesn't know the famous tune of Carnaval Festival? Carnaval Festival opened in 1984 in Reizenrijk and was dreamt up by film producer Joop Geesink, whom we all know from Loeki de Leeuw. Loeki himself even appeared in Carnaval Festival between 2005 and 2011! Let Jokie and Jet take you on a colourful eight-minute journey around the world, travelling through various countries and regions. The best bit? Wherever you look, there's a party going on! So, how many red noses can you count in this ride?

The Queue

The queue for Carnaval Festival is fully covered. You won't get bored, because in the large waiting area you'll see postcards from various countries hanging on the walls. On a big screen, Jokie and Jet give you an early welcome. Before you climb the stairs to the station building, you'll pass a classic television. Don't forget to take a peek at the back of this television!

Europe

Welcome to the Netherlands, the starting point of an enchanting journey! Get swept along by the cheerful tunes of Harmony de Kwakers as you discover the enchanting windmills, colourful tulips and friendly cows of the Dutch landscape. Next, you'll discover Manneken Pis in Belgium and the bewitching dancers of the Moulin Rouge in France. In Great Britain you'll come face to face with majestic guards and a Scottish bagpiper playing the famous Carnaval Festival tune. In Austria you'll celebrate a lively Oktoberfest. Once in Switzerland, take a look at the highest mountain peak; that's where Jokie is being fished out by a snowman! In Italy you'll celebrate the Venetian carnival.

In China you'll discover a shadow play of kites and fish. Hopefully you're not easily scared, because here you'll come face to face with a huge dragon! In Alaska you'll then discover polar bears, Eskimos and Jokie in a sledge steered by penguins. Keep a close eye out as you go down the slope, because you'll see all sorts of little snowmen popping out of holes in the ice! You'll also see Jet, who has just hooked a worm.

Africa, Mexico and Hawaii

The warm sounds of drums and birdsong greet you in Africa, where exotic animals and figures with impressive props cross your path. You'll also come face to face with an enormous gorilla! In Mexico, you're met by the tropical music of trumpets and maracas. In Hawaii, ladies in grass skirts dance the hula. Jokie joins in too! Don't forget to sort out your hair and flash your best smile, because this is where the ride photo is taken. Sadly, the journey then comes to an end… Residents of all the countries you've visited say goodbye to you in different languages!
