The most magical corner of the Efteling
Tucked away between the spectacular rollercoasters, wide paths and imposing buildings of the Efteling lies Marerijk. This realm is considered ‘the heart’ of the Efteling, as it is home to the world-famous Sprookjesbos. Besides this enchanting forest, there are other popular attractions, shows and tasty restaurants to discover.
Famous attractions
Marerijk offers much more than just the Sprookjesbos. How about the Ton van de Ven Plein, where you'll find what is perhaps the Efteling's best-known attraction: Droomvlucht, but also Villa Volta and of course the famous steam carousel, with the miniature world Diorama hidden behind it. On the Anton Pieckplein you can spin round on the many carousels and learn all about the history of the Efteling in the Efteling Museum. Did you know that the Volk van Laaf is also part of Marerijk?
The Sprookjesbos
It's fair to say that a meatball or smoked sausage is by now part of Dutch cultural heritage. No wonder, then, that you can get this treat next to the restaurant Het Witte Paard in Marerijk
PLEASE NOTE: ’t Gebraad opens on varying days depending on expected crowds. Is ’t Gebraad closed on the day of your visit? Then we recommend Restaurant Het Witte Paard or Restaurant Kashba (La Place).
Shows
There's no shortage of shows in Marerijk either. Every day you can enjoy the Sprookjesboomshow in the Sprookjesbostheater. On the Anton Pieckplein you're welcome in the Efteling's smallest theatre. Take a seat and enjoy an old-fashioned puppet show, but of course Raveleijn is the most spectacular show in Marerijk. Take a seat in one of the arena's large stands and enjoy a show full of spectacle, animals and remarkable special effects.
Delicious restaurants
Marerijk is the place in the Efteling for lovers of good food: Marerijk offers a varied choice of food and drink. How about the large restaurant Het Witte Paard, where you can go for a tasty snack as well as an extensive dinner. Fancy something quick? On the Anton Pieckplein you'll find De Smulpaap for chips and snacks. Spread across Marerijk you'll come across various snack points, such as a Unox stall or an Eigenheymer point. The most unique restaurant in Marerijk is ’t Poffertje. This is an old-fashioned poffertjes stall where the Efteling's chefs make fresh poffertjes for you right in the middle of the restaurant.
